Alison Tyrrell MAR
Alison completed a Diploma in Reflexology in 1995 through Life Force, Colchester. More recently, she completed a course in Indian Head Massage through Chris Cozens, Life Arts, Felixstowe. She has full insurance and is a full member of The Association of Reflexologists.
Alison has a background in Mental Health Nursing, having gained her RMN qualification in 1990. She has a wealth of experience with varying age groups, having worked in a variety of settings, including a Therapeutic Community for Adolescents, a Continuing Care Ward and an Adult Acute Ward. Alison has been working with adults as a CPN (Community Psychiatric Nurse) since 2002, now on a Part Time basis since having children.
Alison completed a Diploma in Higher Education in Nursing Practice in 2001. Following this, she completed a BA (Hons) Health Studies: Thorn Programme (Problem Centred Interventions with People with Serious Mental Illness) in 2004. The modules for this course included Psychological Interventions and Family Work in Schizophrenia, amongst others.
Alison has expertise in mental health issues whether mild or severe. She has a good understanding of the effects of stress and how it can affect an individual in psychological, emotional, physical and behavioural ways. With the pressures and business of every day life, whether at home or at work, Alison understands how the build up of pressures can lead to stress related health problems. She is committed to helping individuals to reduce their level of stress and tension that is very common in today's society and to help all those she works with reach and maintain their optimum level of health and wellbeing.
